Robert C. (Bob) Gross is the President and CEO
of Strategic Impact. With over twenty-five years of private and public
sector leadership experience, Bob leads a team of talented experts in
the fields of government relations, organizational management and leadership,
change management, public relations, and marketing.
Bob previously led First Interstate Bank of Utah
as President and Executive Board Chairman, where he earlier served as
Executive Vice President of Retail Banking and Senior Vice President,
General Counsel, and Secretary. He worked for over twenty years in the
financial services industry and represented the Utah Bankers Association
on the American Bankers Association Government Relations Council.
Most recently, Bob served in Utah Governor Michael
O. Leavitt's Cabinet as the Executive Director of the Utah Department
of Workforce Services where he was responsible for overseeing the consolidation
of five state agencies into the department. His colleagues from the other
fifty states elected him to serve as the President of the National Association
of State Workforce Agencies and also asked him to chair reform initiatives
of the federal/state unemployment insurance and employment service.
He has worked extensively with executive and legislative
branches at both state and federal levels of government. He has testified
on many occasions before several committees and subcommittees of Congress
and the Utah Legislature and worked with individual Members and staff
members to shape public policy and legislation.
Bob is regularly asked to speak at conferences,
workshops, and symposia on a diverse number of topics including: business
development and leadership, customer service, leadership and management,
change management, financial services, economic trends, government relations,
workforce services, and welfare reform.
